Three parades are scheduled for Saturday morning in Beaufort County.

Four roads in downtown Beaufort will closed for the county’s Veteran’s Day Parade:

  • Boundary St. will be closed from Adventure St. to Carteret St.
  • Carteret St. will be closed from Boundary St. to Bay St.
  • Bay St. will be closed from Carteret St. to Bladen St.
  • Bladen St. will be closed from Bay Street to Boundary St.

Along with those streets, the Woods Memorial Bridge will also be closed for the duration of the parade.

The roads listed above will be closed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and reopen at 11:15 a.m. However, in the event of poor weather, the parade will be canceled.

On the other side of Beaufort’s historic bridge, on St. Helena Island, the Penn Center’s Heritage Days’ Parade will likely delay traffic as well.

Two roads will be closed:

  • Sea Island Parkway from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Dr. Martin Luther King Drive from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. and is one of many events the Penn Center is holding on Saturday.

South of the Broad

In Bluffton, the American Legion will hold a smaller parade with about 50 people walking and one or two floats.

Traffic impacts, while possible, should me minimal, according to the Bluffton Police Department’s spokesperson Sgt. Bonifacio Perez.

No roads will be closed during the duration of the parade and the parade itself shouldn’t stall traffic longer than a few minutes, Perez said.

The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. starting at the corner of Boundary St. and Pritchard St., turn right onto Calhoun St towards May River Road. Then, the parade will cross May River and continue onto to Promenade St. The Parade will end where Promenade meets Dr. Mellichamp Drive.
