2-vehicle collision slows Thursday afternoon traffic on Argent Boulevard

Drivers traveling through Hardeeville and Okatie late Thursday afternoon might experience delays due to a collision, according to the Hardeeville Fire Department.

The two-vehicle rear-end crash took place around 4 p.m. in the northbound 2800 block of Argent Boulevard, which connects S.C. 170 and U.S. 278. Neither driver was injured, according to Hardeeville Fire Department Marshal Joey Rowell.

Traffic was reduced to the southbound lane only as of 4:30 p.m. as fire and law enforcement personnel direct traffic, Rowell said. Backups on Argent Boulevard appear to stretch a quarter-mile in both directions.

Afternoon commuters should seek alternate routes, such as U.S. 278 and or S.C. 170.
