Attention, drivers! Traffic is backing up on Hilton Head bridge after vehicle breaks down

A vehicle has caused a traffic jam on U.S. 278 after breaking down on the Hilton Head Island bridge Tuesday morning, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office alert.
The car broke down before 9:20 a.m. and was blocking a right eastbound lane of U.S. 278, officials said in the alert.
As of 9:30 a.m., traffic on U.S. 278 and on Bluffton Parkway is building around the Tanger Outlets 1 in Bluffton, according to local traffic cameras. Traffic was slow but still moving.
