A bicyclist who was killed after a crash with a truck Monday night on Boundary Street in Beaufort was identified as 36-year-old Latoya Denise Washington, of Seabrook, South Carolina.

Washington was pronounced dead Monday night just before 9 p.m. at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Her cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma as a result of the crash, according to Beaufort County Coroner David Ott.

The crash, which occurred at Boundary Street and Walsh Drive, happened around 7:40 p.m. between a bicyclist and a 2022 GMC truck, said Cpl. David Jones with the Highway Patrol. Washington was taken to the hospital where she later died and the truck driver was not hurt in the crash, Jones said.

The crash remains under investigation.
