Motorcyclist killed in crash with an SUV Sunday in Okatie is identified

A motorcyclist who was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash with an SUV on S.C. 170 in Okatie has been identified.

Kemonte Lamar Williams, 25, of Savanah was pronounced dead just before 6 p.m. Sunday at Hardeeville’s Coastal Carolina Hospital, according to Beaufort County Coroner David Ott.

Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened about 4:30 p.m. when Williams, riding a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle, was traveling east through an intersection on S.C. 170 and hit a 2020 Ford SUV crossing the highway.

Williams’ autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, Ott said.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The accident is under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
