Jasper County Coroner releases identity of man killed in I-95 crash in Hardeeville
The Jasper County Coroner’s Office has identified a man killed in a crash Wednesday on I-95 in Hardeeville as a 50-year-old man from Virginia.
Henry Shaver, 50, of Virginia was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 3 p.m. near mile markers 4 and 5 in Hardeeville, according to the Jasper County Coroner’s Office.
Shaver was heading north in a Toyota Tundra when the vehicle hit the guardrail. He was wearing a seatbelt during the crash. One passenger in the car was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment.
At least 16 people in Jasper County and 15 in Beaufort County were killed in crashes in 2022, according to the latest available data from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
