Accident on US 278 blocking morning traffic in Hilton Head, police say
An accident on U.S. 278 is blocking morning traffic on Hilton Head Island, according to an alert sent from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning just after 8 a.m.
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 278 and Wilborn Road, and is blocking all westbound lanes of the highway. Hilton Head Fire Rescue is on the scene to assist in clearing the roadway.
Drivers should expect delays when traveling near the entrance of Hilton Head Island, according to the alert.
