Crash on S.C. 170 in Port Royal causes traffic delay Tuesday morning, officials say

Drivers were being redirected down Savannah Highway Tuesday morning after a crash on S.C. 170 in Port Royal blocked lanes, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office alert.

The crash, which happened on S.C. 170 and Savannah Highway, blocked the westbound turning lane and all lanes heading east on S.C. 170. Four cars were involved in the crash, according to City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Lt. Josh Waskow. Two of the cars involved had moderate to heavy front-end damage and two people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Neither of the two injured in the crash had life-threatening injuries, he said.
