Multiple lanes were blocked and traffic was congested Monday afternoon after a crash on Boundary Street in Beaufort, according to an alert from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash, which took place just before 3 p.m., caused the left north and south lanes on Boundary Street to be blocked.

As of 3:18 p.m., traffic continued to be congested, but emergency crews had cleared the scene and should be “resuming to normal shortly,” according to Lt. Clint Holmes with the City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department.

There was one reported injury in the four-car crash, Holmes said. That person was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for treatment.
