Traffic backing up on Hilton Head bridges Friday after crash on U.S. 278 near Moss Creek
UPDATE: As of around 1:53 p.m., the crash has been cleared, according to traffic cameras.
A mid-day crash on U.S. 278 in Bluffton has shut down two lanes and is slowing Friday traffic, according to authorities.
The left and center lanes of westbound U.S. 278 near Moss Creek Drive are shut down as officials work to clear a crash, a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office alert sent at 11:57 a.m. said.
A traffic camera shows a white pickup truck with damage to the front of the vehicle and emergency officials approaching the car.
“Motorists can expect heavy traffic and delays,” the alert said.
