UPDATE at 1:43 p.m.: Traffic is flowing again, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office traffic cameras.

Traffic is backed up on U.S. 278 and the Bluffton Parkway because of a disabled vehicle on the Hilton Head bridge, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The right lane of eastbound U.S. 278 was blocked starting at 8:15 a.m. because a box truck broke down, said Maj. Bob Bromage, Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Motorists can expect heavy traffic and delays in the area.
