Traffic backing up Monday afternoon on popular route from Bluffton to Savannah

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Drivers can expect to see traffic backed up on S.C. 315 in Hardeeville Monday afternoon after a “minor” two-car crash in the area, according to an alert from the City of Hardeeville.

The crash, on S.C. 315 and S.C. 17, took place between an 18-wheeler and a car, according to Hardeeville Fire Department Assistant Chief Joey Rowell. No injuries were reported, Rowell said. The crash is expected to tie up traffic as emergency responders work to clear the scene, the alert said.

There were no injuries.

Drivers should avoid the area, if possible.

“It’s hard on 17 because of roadwork. There’s no turnaround spots until they finish the roadwork,” Rowell said. “It can get congested pretty quick over there.”
