Hilton Head woman killed in Valentine’s Day crash with 18-wheeler in Ridgeland SC
A Hilton Head woman died Monday after her car was hit by an 18-wheeler in Ridgeland.
Ashten Olivia Bryan was “pronounced dead on the scene due to her injuries sustained by the accident,” according to Jasper County Coroner Willie P Aiken.
According to a Tuesday press release from Ridgeland Police Department, Bryan was driving a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Jacob Smart Boulevard and Smith Crossing in Ridgeland Monday afternoon and did not yield to a stop sign. Her car was struck by a Mack log truck on the driver’s side and was pushed off the left side of the roadway.
Her autopsy is scheduled for Friday at Charleston’s Medical University of South Carolina.
Ridgeland Police Department is still investigating the crash and no charges have been filed at this time, according to Sgt. Tim East.
