Drivers asked to avoid area near Sun City, Hardeeville after 4 cars involved in crash

UPDATE: The crash has cleared and traffic has resumed.

Authorities asked drivers to steer clear of an area near Sun City in Hardeeville after a four-car collision Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

Crews with the Hardeeville Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Argent Boulevard at around 3 p.m., where a multi-car collision was reported, according to Chief Joey Rowell.

There were no immediate reports whether anyone was injured. The crash didn’t “appear to be severe in nature,” said Rowell.

“Traffic is backed up and delayed in all directions. Crews are working to clear the road but are expected to be on the scene for some time,” according to a news alert from the city of Hardeeville.
