2-car crash on U.S. 278 Wednesday afternoon backs up afternoon traffic on Hilton Head
A crash on U.S. 278 Wednesday afternoon blocked two eastbound lanes before the Spanish Wells intersection, officials say.
The crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred before 4:13 p.m. Wednesday, according to an alert from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. The left and middle lanes of U.S. 278 heading east were blocked by vehicles involved in the crash. Emergency vehicles were on the scene and drivers should expect delays, the alert said.
As of around 4:40 p.m., the crash had cleared and all lanes were open, according to an alert from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
