Crash on Hilton Head bridge slows Friday morning traffic onto island

A minor crash on the Hilton Head Island bridge is bottle-necking traffic onto the island Friday morning as cars stretch down U.S. 278.

At around 8 a.m., two cars were involved in the crash on the eastbound bridge resulting in minor injuries and minor damage, according to Bluffton Township Fire District Capt. Randy Hunter.

The crash was just bad enough “to mess up traffic,” he said.

Traffic cameras show cars lined up by Moss Creek in Bluffton.
