A crash on U.S. 278 and Simmonsville Road caused a traffic jam Wednesday evening, officials say.
Around 5:15 p.m., the westbound lane of U.S. 278 was blocked by emergency vehicles and cars involved in the crash, according to an alert from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
