Car broken down, 1 lane closed on Hilton Head bridge, slows morning traffic on island
UPDATE: Traffic cameras show the car has been removed and the lane re-opened. Traffic has returned to normal.
A disabled vehicle shut down one eastbound lane on the Hilton Head Island bridges and is slowing Tuesday morning traffic heading on the island.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office sent an alert about the car at 8:14 a.m. The right lane on the eastbound bridge is closed.
Traffic is stretching from the bridge to the Tanger Outlets on U.S. 278, according to the traffic cameras.
