I-95 northbound traffic tied up following crash in Jasper County Sunday

Traffic on northbound Interstate 95 is congested near mile marker 13 following a four-vehicle crash Sunday morning, officials say.

The crash occurred at 10:55 a.m. in Jasper County, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Tidwell. Three people were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Tidwell said.

Both northbound lanes were blocked following the collision, according to Tidwell, and were still experiencing backups at 12:13 p.m. Sunday due to a “combination” of debris still in the area from the crash and heavy traffic in the area.

Emergency crews were working to clear the accident at 11:25 a.m., according to an alert from the City of Hardeeville. Drivers can expect traffic delays around Highway 17 and “other roadways,” the alert said.
