1 hospitalized, traffic rerouted after crash at May River Road and SC 170 traffic circle

UPDATE: Traffic has cleared at the May River Road and S.C. 170 traffic circle.

The driver of a box truck that went off the road in Bluffton was hospitalized Tuesday morning, resulting in cars being re-routed from the May River Road and S.C. 170 traffic circle, according to police.

Authorities are redirecting drivers through Heritage at New Riverside as a tow truck is working to remove the crashed box truck, according to Bluffton Police Capt. Joe Babkiewicz.

The driver “went off (the) roadway and struck a few things,” said Bakiewicz.
