All lanes reopened on Fording Island Road after crash near Bluffton outlets injured 1

Update: The crash was cleared at 3:43 p.m.

A crash on Fording Island Road blocked all eastbound lanes on Bluffton’s largest thoroughfare Friday afternoon, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at the Sawmill Creek Road intersection near the Tanger 1 Outlets.

It happened around 2:50 p.m. on Friday, and involved a minivan and a pickup truck, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. Bob Bromage.

At least one person was injured and others are being evaluated for injuries, Bromage said.
