Two-car crash on Buck Island Road may cause traffic delays

A two-car collision on Buck Island Road in Bluffton caused one driver to seek medical attention Thursday afternoon, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. Bob Bromage said.

Bluffton Police Department responded to the crash at 12 p.m. Thursday. South Carolina Highway Patrol and Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office are helping with traffic, Bromage said.

Traffic heading north along Buck Island Road towards U.S. 278 was initially diverted through Westbury Park, Bromage said. The two cars were moved off the road and both lanes are now open.

Drivers on Buck Island Road can expect traffic delays.

One driver in the crash was taken to the hospital for evaluation of minor injuries, Bromage said.
