Update: Broken traffic lights repaired at busy 278 intersection in Bluffton
Traffic signals that were not functioning properly at the intersection of U.S. 278 and Malphrus Road in Bluffton just after 11 a.m. Friday have been repaired.
Capt. Bob Bromage, spokesman for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, said the county’s traffic management department looked into the problem.
The cause of the problem was not immediately known.
Crews could be seen working on a light that was flashing a red turn signal just before noon.
Drivers were encouraged to be cautious through the intersection.
