This Bluffton traffic circle is about to be closed — a lot. Here’s when, and why
The Buckwalter traffic circle in Bluffton is scheduled to be closed for long periods and for almost a month while improvements are made to nearby roads, according to a news release from a local contractor.
Cleland Site Prep INC. announced Tuesday afternoon that the circle would be closed beginning Feb. 5 through March 5 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
“When a definite completion date is established, the public and media will be notified,” the release said.
Drivers should expect delays during this time, the release said. Improvements are being made to Buckwalter Place Boulevard and Innovation Drive. Closing the circle is necessary to accommodate additional traffic for future stores in the area, according to the release.
While the circle is closed, drivers entering the area from Bluffton Parkway, heading to eviCore or the Bluffton Police Department must turn left next to Station 300 and go to CareCore Drive.
Drivers entering from Buckwalter Parkway and bound for eviCore, the police department or businesses near Station 300 must head down Buckwalter Place Boulevard, turn left onto the driveway between the open field and Publix, then go to the stop sign and make a right onto the driveway that ends at Station 300 and Ace Hardward.
