SC 170 opens back up to drivers after Okatie crash shut down multiple lanes

A crash on S.C. 170 blocked multiple lanes in Okatie late Thursday afternoon, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office advisory.

The crash at Okatie Highway near Barrel Landing Road shut down all westbound lanes of S.C. 170 around 5:40 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office. Lanes were cleared around 6:40 p.m., according to a second advisory.

Real-time traffic information from the South Carolina Highway Patrol showed a crash that resulted in injuries at Okatie Highway and Commerce Place East, which intersects the highway near Enmark and Zaxby’s, just a short distance from U.S. 278.
