What slowed down all that traffic in Okatie?
A crash blocked traffic for several miles along S.C. 170 near its intersection with U.S. 278 in Okatie on Wednesday morning.
Lanes appeared to be backed up in both directions for about an hour along S.C. 170, also known as Okatie Highway, after the accident at Okatie Center Boulevard, according to the Beaufort County traffic cameras.
The three-vehicle crash left two people with minor injuries, South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern said late Wednesday afternoon. One person was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and another was taken to Hilton Head Hospital.
Waze users reported traffic starting several miles north of the accident.
The scene was cleared and traffic began moving normally around 11:15 a.m., according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
