Driver hospitalized after Beaufort car crash

A two-car crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Shell Point Road and Broad River Drive in Beaufort caused an SUV to flip onto its side and the driver of a sedan to be hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of a car was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a collision with an SUV at the intersection of Shell Point Road and Broad River Drive in Beaufort.

Burton Fire District crews responded to the accident around 1:30 p.m. and transported the driver of the sedan to Beaufort Memorial Hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries, according to a district release.

The driver and passenger of the SUV, which flipped onto its side, refused medical treatment, the release said.
