US 278 lanes near Bluffton flyover to remain open Friday night

All lanes of traffic on U.S. 278 near the Bluffton Parkway flyover will remain open Friday evening and Saturday morning.

The lane closures previously planned for the roadway between the Hilton Head Island bridges and Buckingham Plantation Drive has been canceled, according to a news release from construction firm R.R. Dawson Bridge Co.

The closures were to allow for the installation of signage, but Hurricane Matthew has pushed back the project.
