Gator’s walk in Sea Pines cut short

Part-time resident Marc Robbins shared these photos and video of an alligator he and his wife, Lisa, came upon while riding their bicycles Sunday afternoon in Sea Pines on Hilton Head Island.

The alligator initially was laying in the road but then started to amble off. Lisa Robbins called animal control while Marc Robbins kept an eye on the gator, which moved in and out of the brush several times. The wildlife wranglers eventually captured the animal and took it to the Sea Pines wildlife preserve.

“We've been here many times and have seen many gators, but surely nothing like this!” he said.

The Robbins live in Kentucky but maintain a vacation home on Hilton Head.
