H.E. McCracken Middle School is holding a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday to mark its return to a sixth- through eighth-grade configuration.
The event will take place from 5:45 to 8 p.m. at the Bluffton school, located at 250 H.E. McCracken Circle, and will feature an art display, band performance and chorus selection before the official ceremony.
The reopening will give parents and students a sneak peek of the upcoming academic year, including a new focus on science, technology, engineering and math.
In addition to reverting back to the traditional format from the eighth- through ninth-grade configuration it adopted in 2010, the school also has a new principal.
