Comedian Jon Reep to perform at USCB Jan. 29

One of stand-up comedian Jon Reep's best known stories recounts the time he got kicked out of a Carolina Panther's football game.

Reep was called onto the field during a 1995 game in Clemson by the Panther's mascot "Sir Purr" to drunkenly dance in the end zone.

Police caught Reep in the middle of the worm and ushered him off the field to protests from the crowd.

That performance was the comedian's first time on television, but far from the last.

Now, weeks before his favorite team will play in the Superbowl, the Hickory, N.C., native and winner of Season 5 of "Last Comic Standing" will perform Jan. 29 at the University of South Carolina Beaufort's Center for the Arts.

You also may also recognize Reep from "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," as the Hemi guy for Dodge Truck's ad campaign and his recurring role as Jed Forney on HBO's "Eastbound & Down."

The Beaufortettes, a sassy group of local tap dancers with an average age of 72, will open the show.

The show is at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 with discounts for seniors and students.

The Center for the Arts is at 805 Carteret Street, Beaufort.
