South of the Broad class notes for April 14

After seeing a request from a student in Washington, D.C., for help on a project about the states, Hilton Head Preparatory School second-graders shipped a package of items representing South Carolina. They collected sand from the beach, a sweetgrass rose, Carolina stoneground grits, a sand dollar, a shell magnet, postcards and numerous photos of our island and wildlife.
