Will Beaufort County return 7 more books to school libraries? Review committees decided

The Beaufort County book review committees voted Wednesday night to return seven library books to shelves, removing one’s availability for middle school students. The only change made was the availability of “Grit” by Gillian French. It was returned to grades 9-12. The book had previously been available to students in grades 6-12

It has taken nearly a year to review 92 of the 97 books removed from shelves in October of last year. Of those 92, four have been banned: “The Haters” by Jesse Andrews, “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult, “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover and “Forever for a Year” by B.T. Gottfried.
