This story will be updated as details become available.

A student at Ridgeland Elementary School brought a knife to campus and threatened another student with it Wednesday, according to police.

A school resource officer responded to the incident, according to Jasper County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy and spokesperson Jeff Crosby. No one was injured, he said. Crosby added he did not have “all the details” Wednesday afternoon.

“He did bring a knife to school saying he was going to kill another student, and that student happened to be a family member of his,” Crosby said.

A spokesperson for the Jasper County School District could not immediately be reached for comment.
