Bluffton High School students plant pollinator garden

Bluffton High School planted its first pollinator garden, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the school’s garden area, behind the temporary buildings and the football field.

This project-based learning activity was a semester long for the ESOL 3 students of Bluffton High School. Along with the ESOL teacher, science teacher Debbie Davis; Tim Chase; and art teacher Kristen Munroe, the ESOL students learned about the plight of the monarch butterfly and decided to do something to save them.

This is the first pollinator garden that will be among many in the Bluffton area. Mayor Lisa Sulka will be in attendance to cut the ribbon.
