Loring Stone

Loring “Stoney” Putnam Stone, 74, of Beaufort, a retired Marine Corps master gunnery sergeant and widower of Eva Margaret Stone, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Friday in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.

Donations may be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th St., Port Royal, SC 29935; or St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 70 Lady’s Island Drive, Beaufort, SC 29907; or to a charity of one’s choice, especially to veteran’s charities or Waters Edge UMC Building Fund.
