Ridgeland man faces drug, other charges

A 25-year-old Ridgeland man was arrested in Seabrook on Saturday morning after deputies found hundreds of pills allegedly intended for distribution, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Fabian Habersham faces charges of possession with intent to distribute, simple possession of marijuana, providing false information to law enforcement, driving an uninsured vehicle and not having his registration with him in the vehicle, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center website. He is being held there on a $11,772.50 bond.

Deputies found more than 300 pills of Alprazolam when Habersham was pulled over at Morgan Road and Trask Parkway around 7 a.m., according to Capt. Bob Bromage with the Sheriff’s Office. The drug is a depressant used to treat anxiety and panic disorders; a common brand is Xanax.
