Police: House-sitter’s daughter throws party; guest arrested
A Georgia man faces drug and weapon charges following his arrest earlier this week after an unauthorized house party on Hilton Head Island, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
Travis Palmer, 25, is charged with possession of cocaine in the first degree and unlawful carry of a firearm. He also faces charges of providing false information to law enforcement and a broken seal on a liquor bottle in a motor vehicle. He is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center with a combined $35,732 bail.
Palmer’s arrest came after deputies responded Monday night to a noise complaint on Wedgefield Drive in Indigo Run, the report said. The home’s owners were away, and the house was being watched by a woman whose daughter threw the party. The party’s host did not have permission to be at the home, the report said.
Palmer, who had been at the party earlier, returned while deputies were still there, the report said.
He allegedly gave deputies several false names. His mother identified him after she was called to pick him up.
The party’s host told deputies Palmer had a firearm in her vehicle and gave them permission to search it. Deputies found the weapon and 0.68 grams of cocaine, the report said.
