The Bluffton Police Department is looking for this man, who is suspected of punching through a glass door at Cinemark Bluffton on May 5, 2016.

A man who arrived at a local theater too late to buy a ticket May 5 got angry and punched through a glass door.

According to a Bluffton Police Department report, a man, woman and “small child” tried to enter Cinemark Bluffton shortly after 11:30 p.m. When they were informed they were too late to buy a ticket and were asked to leave, the man “punched the glass door to the business, causing it to shatter.”

The manager of Cinemark, who called the police, estimated the door was worth $1,000.

After punching the door, the man, woman and child left.

The responding police officer documented that he saw surveillance video of the incident. “In the video, it appears glass fell on the child, and the suspect did not have due regard for the safety of his child,” the officer wrote.

Blood samples were taken at the scene and placed into evidence.

Police are looking for a 6-foot-tall, 200-pound black male who is approximately 30 to 40 years old. He was with a “heavy-set white female with red hair” and a child described as a toddler.

If you have any information about this incident, call the Bluffton Police Department at 843-706-4560.
