Woman reports sexual assault at Bluffton apartment complex
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged sexual assault at a Bluffton apartment complex.
According to a WJCL report, the female victim told deputies she walked into her apartment at the Estate at Westbury Park around 3 a.m. on May 7 and found a man she did not know waiting inside.
The man allegedly grabbed her, put a knife to her throat and said, “I know you’re lonely,” before he telling her not to scream.
He then pushed her on the couch and raped her, the news report said.
The victim told deputies the man entered through the front door, which she sometimes leaves unlocked.
The Sheriff’s Office collected items from forensic examination.
The suspect is described as a white, possibly Asian male who has a tall, muscular build with black hair that is shaved on the sides.
The victim said he spoke broken English and had a circular tattoo on his left arm with Chinese writing, the news report said.
