3 injured in multiple vehicle accident in Burton

A multiple-vehicle accident in the Burton community Friday night left three injured, officials say.

The accident involving three vehicles occurred at the intersection of Trask Parkway and S.C. 116, according to Dan Byrne of the Burton Fire District.

Firefighters dispatched to the intersection just before 5:30 p.m. found all three vehicles with severe damage and three occupants with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

The injured were taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and traffic was delayed for about 30 minutes while emergency crews worked the scene.

The fire district has responded to more than 10 accidents on Trask Parkway so far this year, Byrne said.
