Bluffton teen who accidentally shot himself did so at home

The Bluffton teenager who accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday did so at his Pine Ridge home, according to Bluffton Police.

The 15-year-old teen shot himself around 6 p.m. and was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, according to department spokeswoman Joy Nelson.

On Tuesday, Nelson could not provide information on the teenager’s condition, whether any charges will be filed or to whom the weapon belonged.

The investigation is ongoing.
