Seabrook fire leaves family without home

A Seabrook family is being assisted by the American Red Cross after a kitchen fire in their mobile home resulted in major damage.

Two volunteer American Red Cross members responded to the fire around 10 a.m. on Sunday after an 88-year-old man, his 82-year-old wife, their two children and their 5-year-old grandson got home from church and discovered the fire at the Kean Neck Road residence, according to a Red Cross news release.

No injuries were reported, but the home suffered major damage.

The family will be provided with food for a week along with temporary housing, the release said.
