Students from Bluffton High School’s Career and Technology Education program, along with the Bluffton Township Fire District’s Explorer Post, underwent firefighter training at the Parris Island Fire Department Training Center on April 21.

The Explorers are working to get their International Fire Services Accreditation Congress Firefighter I certification and to obtain high school credit by putting practical skills to use while fighting a real fire, according to a Fire District news release.

Any students in high school who are interested in becoming part of the Explorer Post can email Marcos Farr at farr@blufftonfd.com.
