A Port Royal man was charged with attempted murder Monday in connection with a gunshot fired at Brody's Bar and Grill near Lady's Island last week.

Beaufort police arrived at the bar, at 47 Ferry Dr., just after 2 a.m. Thursday in response to a call of shots fired. Officers found a bullet hole in the driver's door of a white Toyota pickup truck.

Police believe one shot was fired at the vehicle at close range while the car was leaving the parking lot, court documents show. A woman and man were both inside the car, but no one was injured.

Kenneth Tuberville-Studer, 25, was charged with attempted murder after he was identified as the shooter by the victim in a six-person photo lineup. He was listed as an inmate in the Beaufort County Detention Center on Tuesday.

Beaufort Police declined to release further information Tuesday about the motive in the incident.
