Sexual assault reported on Hilton Head Island
An alleged sexual assault was reported on Hilton Head Island in early March.
The incident happened sometime between Feb. 23 and 25, according to the heavily redacted Beaufort Sheriff’s Office report.
No information in the report hinted at how old the victim was, whether the victim was male or female, or where on the island the accusation stems from.
The report said the victim reported the incident a week after it was alleged to have happened and that he or she was raped by an acquaintance.
The investigation is ongoing, the report said.
No charges have been filed in relation to the case, Capt. Bob Bromage said Friday.
