Bluffton mother charged with DUI at her children’s school
A Bluffton woman was charged with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly tried to pick up her kids from school.
Bluffton Police were dispatched to River Ridge Academy Thursday around 4:30 p.m. when a teacher called to say the mother appeared to be under the influence, according to a Bluffton Police Department news release.
As officers asked her questions, the mother slurred her words and said she had taken a prescribed drug earlier that day, the release said. A search of her vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia.
Field sobriety tests were conducted and the woman was arrested.
The newspaper does not name suspects charged with misdemeanors.
