Two Bluffton men arrested after drug investigation
A long-running sting operation netted the arrest of two Bluffton men on multiple drug offenses.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators kept an eye on 32 Hildebrand Drive “over the past several months” and recently obtained a search warrant, which was executed this morning.
Sheriff’s Office investigators, SWAT and police dogs entered the home and collected evidence. As a result of the search, Devin Murphy, 20, and Christopher Erskine, 23, were arrested on multiple charges. The men were residents of the home.
Murphy has been charged with three counts of sale and distribution of cocaine, three counts of sale and distribution of cocaine within 1/2 mile of a park, possession of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Erskine was charged with possession of crack and simple possession of marijuana.
The two men were booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center and are awaiting bond hearings.
Additional charges are possible.
Among evidence listed by the Sheriff’s Office at the home were:
- 1 gram of cocaine
- 1 gram of crack cocaine
- 29 grams of marijuana
- 16 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
- 26 grams of THC wax
- 2 rifles
- 3 handguns, and
- items, such as scales, packaging, processing devices and various consumption instruments, used for the sale, distribution and consumption of drugs.
