Wreck snarls traffic on Hilton Head

A wreck at the intersection of Squire Pope Road and William Hilton Parkway on Hilton Head Island backed up traffic this morning for about 45 minutes.

The wreck at the intersection occurred at about 7 a.m. and initially jammed traffic on all westbound lanes off the island.

The left westbound lane reopened around 7:30 am. The highway was fully open by 7:45 am.
