Seabrook man charged with receiving stolen goods after search uncovers stolen trailers, equipment

Keith Wright turned himself in to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office ON Thursday, nearly a month after deputies found a stolen trailer from Charleston County on his property along Detour Road. The trailer was tracked to his property by GPS, the release said.

Inside a fenced-in yard, the deputies saw other trailers and heavy equipment they believed to be stolen, so investigators were called in and a search warrant obtained. The investigators uncovered 60 stolen items, from trailers to landscaping and construction equipment, worth almost $229,000, the release said.

The majority of the stolen equipment was from Beaufort County and other neighboring counties. Items confirmed stolen through incident reports and serial number checks were returned. Wright, 49, was identified as the person of interest in the investigation and a warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this week, the release said.

Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to contact SSgt. Jeremiah Fraser at 843-255-3416 or by calling S.C. Crime Stoppers 1-888-274-6372 to report information anonymously.
